School Bus Transportation

This message only applies to school bus riders.   A copy of this message along with a letter from Superintendent, Keith Hayashi will be posted to the school website for your convenience.
We continue to experience a severe shortage of bus drivers, especially on Maui, Oahu, and Hawaii Island. We intend to inform bus riders as soon as we get information affecting any bus route for Red Hill Elementary students.  Special Needs busses will have top priority.
A parent letter from Superintendent Keith Hayashi has been sent to you via email (attached below).
At this time we do not know which bus routes will be impacted as conditions are changing rapidly. The Department has created a resource webpage to provide updates on impacted routes and other helpful information at bit.ly/HIDOE-Buses. The webpage includes:
A list of bus routes that are actively servicing schools will be updated frequently with the most up-to-date information.
Links, instructions, and information for families on applying for mileage reimbursement and refunds.
We apologize for this inconvenience, however, this shortage is beyond our control.  Red Hill currently has one bus route that we hope will not be affected but wanted to let you know that there may be a small chance it will impact our school.
We will keep you posted as new information arises.  Thank you for your understanding and support.  If you have any questions, you may call student transportation at  808-784-6864.
Mahalo,
Mrs. Moss
